Using the planner

  1. No. 01

    Start with the date

Pick your wedding date and every task gets a suggested date, counted back from it. If you have no date yet, the checklist still works in order and you can add the date later.

  2. No. 02

    Make the list yours

Tick tasks off, edit the wording or the date of any task, hide the ones that do not apply to you, and add your own under the time frame where they belong.

  3. No. 03

    Follow the links

Tasks that one of our tools can help with, such as the budget, the guest list, the seating chart or the invitations, link straight to it.

  4. No. 04

    Back it up

The planner lives in this browser only. Save a file now and then, or print the list, so you have a copy if you clear your browser data or switch phones.

The tools the checklist points to

Most big tasks have a tool behind them. Work out what you can spend in the wedding budget calculator, keep your guests, replies and meals in the wedding guest list maker, and lay out the tables in the wedding seating chart maker.

Once the date is settled, make the invitations in the wedding invitation maker, put the order of the day together with the wedding day timeline generator and give guests the details on a wedding website.

Good questions

About the wedding planner.

Is this a wedding planning app I have to download?

No. It is a web app: you open this page in your phone or computer browser and use it there, with nothing to install and no app store. Most phone browsers let you add the page to your home screen from the share or menu button.

Is the wedding planner free?

Yes. It is free, there is no sign-up and no watermark.

Where are my tasks saved?

In this browser on this device, and nowhere else. We do not receive your checklist, your notes or the date. Clearing your browser data removes the plan, so use Save a file to keep a backup.

Can my partner or maid of honor use it too?

Not at the same moment on two devices, because there is no shared account. You can save the plan as a file and open it on another device, or print the list and hand it over.

Is there an AI wedding planner here?

The checklist is not written by AI. It is a list of suggestions based on common planning practice, and you change it as you like. For writing, the site has AI tools for vows, speeches and ceremony scripts, linked from the tasks they belong to.

How are the due dates worked out?

Each task has a suggested lead time, in weeks before the wedding, and the due date is the wedding day minus that time. They are suggestions, not rules: change the date of any task, or clear it.

What if my wedding is sooner than 12 months away?

The earlier tasks show up as past their suggested date. You can tick off what you have already done, hide what does not apply and work through the rest in order.

Can I print the checklist?

Yes. Press Print and only the checklist is printed, grouped by time frame, with a box to tick beside each task.
