No. 02What you can make

A 10-second announcement with your date and city

The video opens with your title line and names, shows up to three photos, gives the date and city a scene of their own, and ends on a closing line. Photos are optional, a scene with nothing to say is skipped, and the video always runs 10 seconds.

Choose Vertical 9:16 (720 × 1280) for Reels, Stories and WhatsApp Status, or Wide 16:9 (1280 × 720) for email and group chats. Full HD versions of both appear in the Size list when your browser can encode them. You get an ordinary video file on your own device, and you send or post it yourself.

Pick from six templates and a choice of colors, or from seven style packs if you want the video to match a card you made elsewhere on this site.

No. 03How it works

Four steps to a finished video

  1. No. 01

    Pick the wording

Under Wording ideas tap Classic, Formal, Excited or For the wedding of, then edit Title line, First name, Second name, Date, City and state, and Invitation to follow line.

  2. No. 02

Add a website if you have one

Paste a link that starts with https:// into Website. It appears as a short line of text on the closing scene. A video cannot be tapped, so a short address works best.

  3. No. 03

    Choose a template and photos

Pick a Template and color, or a style pack under Style. Press Choose photos to add up to three, and use the arrow buttons to change their order.

  4. No. 04

    Export

Pick a Size and press Export video. The line under the preview shows the size, the 10 seconds and the file format before you start.

No. 04Good to know

What it does not do

The file is silent. There is no music library, so add a song you have the right to use in your phone’s video editor or in the app you post from.

It is a template video, not AI and not a timeline editor. Photos drift and zoom slowly, scenes fade or slide, and nothing is generated. You cannot trim scenes or add stickers.

The video shows your website as text rather than a scannable code. For a printed card, the save the date maker can draw a QR code from the same link, and the wedding QR code generator makes one on its own.

Which tool for which message?

They share wording and styles, so you can use more than one.

  • Save the Date Maker

A still card to download, print or send as a picture. Its “Make this a video” link brings your wording and style here.

  • Wedding Invitation Video Maker

The 15-second follow-up with the full details: host line, time, venue and reception.

  • Wedding Slideshow Maker

Three to twelve photos with captions, for when you want to show more pictures than three.

No. 06Tips

Getting the video right

  1. No. 01

    Lead with the date

Write the date the way you would on paper, for example “June 12, 2027”, and keep the city to a single line.

  2. No. 02

    Use one to three photos

Ten seconds is short. One strong photo of the two of you works better than a crowd of small moments.

  3. No. 03

    Check the last line

The closing scene shows your names and date once more. If you add a line such as “Invitation to follow”, keep it short enough to read in a second.

No. 08Questions

Good questions

About the save the date video maker.

Is the save the date video maker really free?

Yes. It is free, adds no watermark and needs no account or sign-up. The video is made on your own device, so nothing is queued or charged.

Is it online, or do I need an app?

It runs on this page in your browser, so there is nothing to install. Your text and style choices are remembered on this device for next time.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Photos, names and dates stay in your browser, and the video is built there as well. We remember your text and choices on this device, never the photos.

Why is there no music?

No. The file has no sound track and there is no music library. Add a song you may use in your phone’s video editor or the app you post from.

Which phones and browsers can export the video?

Browsers that can encode video, such as current Chrome and Edge, save an MP4 directly. Others may record it in real time and save an MP4 or WebM file, and the page says which before you start. We have not yet tested Safari, Firefox or iPhones.

Can I send it on WhatsApp or post it on Instagram?

Yes, as a file. Choose Vertical 9:16 for Status, Reels and Stories, then share the saved video from your own device. This page sends nothing for you.

Can I add a link to my wedding website?

Yes. Paste a link that starts with https:// into Website and it appears as a short line on the closing scene. Only http and https links are accepted.

Is this AI video?

No. It is a template video made from your text and photos with slow pans, zooms and transitions. Nothing is generated and nobody in your photos is made to move.

How long is the video, and what size is the file?

It is always 10 seconds. The page shows the exact file size when it is done. The standard sizes are 720 × 1280 and 1280 × 720, plus Full HD where your browser can make it.
