Question 1 of 8

What best describes the jewelry that is worn every day?

Answer for yourself, or for the person who will wear the ring.

No. 01Examples

Example results

Three of the eight styles, shortened from the quiz’s own wording. Your result depends on your answers.

Solitaire

One stone, a slim band and nothing to compete with it. A solitaire puts a single stone on a simple band. Metals to look at: yellow gold for a warm, traditional feel, white gold or platinum for a cool, bright one. Stone shapes to look at: round for a classic look, oval or emerald cut for a longer line on the finger.

Bezel

The stone is set inside a smooth rim of metal. A bezel setting wraps a thin collar of metal around the edge of the stone instead of using prongs. It sits low and smooth, so it catches less on clothing and gloves. Metals to look at: yellow gold for a warm, solid look, white gold, platinum or rose gold for a quieter one. Stone shapes to look at: round, oval or emerald cut; the rim follows any shape.

East-west

An elongated stone laid sideways across the finger. In an east-west ring the stone sits horizontally rather than pointing up the finger. It looks modern and a little unexpected, and it sits low on the hand. Metals to look at: yellow gold for a relaxed, modern look, white gold or platinum for a crisp one. Stone shapes to look at: oval, emerald, marquise, pear or radiant, anything long.

Eight questions, one ring style

  1. No. 01

    Answer for the wearer

Each screen asks one question: the jewelry worn every day, how busy the hands are, which metal color they reach for, how much sparkle, how the ring will be worn, which look appeals, what it should say and which stone shape draws the eye.

  2. No. 02

Move through at your own pace

Next moves on and Back changes an earlier answer. Every question needs an answer, and a few offer No idea yet or Not sure yet.

  3. No. 03

    Press See my result

You get a style name, a description, Metals to look at, Stone shapes to look at and Good to know. Why this matched lists up to three of your answers, and a Runner-up shows the next style.

  4. No. 04

    Keep or share it

Copy result copies the text and Copy link gives an address that brings the same result back. Retake starts over.

No. 03Good to know

A style guide, not a shopping list

The quiz can end on Solitaire, Halo, Three-stone, Pavé band, Vintage or art deco, Bezel, East-west or Cluster or toi-et-moi. It names styles, metals and stone shapes only. It does not suggest a budget, name a seller or say what a stone is worth, and it does not use AI: each answer adds fixed points to some styles.

If you are planning a surprise, the quiz gives you words for what to look for. After a yes, the engagement party invitation maker makes the invitation.

Next steps after the ring

The ring is one part of the proposal. These tools cover the rest.

Taking your ring result shopping

  1. No. 01

    Answer for the wearer

If you are planning a proposal, answer as the person who will wear the ring. Their everyday jewelry is a strong clue.

  2. No. 02

Try the setting on, not just the stone

The same stone looks different in a solitaire, a halo or a bezel. Try a few settings on.

  3. No. 03

Think about the wedding band and resizing

Some rings sit flush against a plain band and some leave a gap, and some are easier to resize. Ask a jeweler about both.

Good questions

About the engagement ring quiz.

Is the engagement ring quiz free?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and works on your phone.

How does the quiz choose my result?

Each answer adds points to some of the eight ring styles. The style with the most points is your result, and the next one is your runner-up. A tie is always settled the same way, so the same answers give the same result.

Is this an AI ring quiz?

No. It is a fixed set of questions with fixed points for each answer, and no AI is involved.

Does the quiz mention prices or brands?

No. It describes styles, metals and stone shapes only. It does not suggest a budget, name a seller or say anything about what a stone is worth.

Can I take it for someone else?

Yes. Answer as you think the person who will wear the ring would, then compare the result with a ring they already wear and love.

Are my answers saved or uploaded?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser. The link under your result holds only which option you picked for each question.

Is this advice from a jeweler?

No. It is a style guide that gives you words for what you like. A jeweler can talk you through how a particular ring is made and how it wears.
