The background is only for viewing: the downloads are transparent.

The SVG keeps the text as text and has the fonts embedded inside the file, so web browsers draw it exactly like this, with or without our site. Some design programs ignore embedded fonts; use a PNG there.

No. 02What you can make

A wedding logo built from your initials

Type two initials, one to three letters each, and the maker lays them out in a design you choose. A monogram is the most common kind of wedding logo: your initials, sometimes with a surname letter, a date and a names line, used on invitations, menus, signs, favors and a wedding website.

There are ten classic designs: Interlocked serif, Script duo, Stacked, Circle frame, Wreath, Crest, Diamond, Arch, Minimal line and Split by ampersand. Choose Crest for a shield shape, or Wreath for a ring of leaves. When you pick one of the seven style packs, two more designs made for that pack appear at the front of the list.

Downloads are a transparent PNG at 1024 or 3000 pixels square, or an SVG. The transparent background lets you drop the monogram onto any color or photo. For print, use the larger PNG, or the SVG if your printer asks for a vector file.

No. 03How it works

Four steps to a finished monogram

  1. No. 01

    Enter your initials

Fill in First initial and Second initial. Add a Surname initial, a Date or year and a Names line if you want them. Letters A to Z and accented capitals are accepted.

  2. No. 02

    Choose a design

Tap any design in the grid. Each thumbnail already shows your letters, so you can compare them side by side.

  3. No. 03

    Choose the color

Pick a color scheme, or a style pack and colorway. You can also paste a link or #c= code from the [color palette generator](/wedding-color-palette-generator) under Or use a palette.

  4. No. 04

    Download

Press Download PNG 1024, Download PNG 3000 or Download SVG. The download stays off until the initials fit the design, and a message says what to change.

No. 04Good to know

What the maker does and does not do

It is a template tool, not AI. The designs are built from fixed layouts and the fonts shipped with the site, so the same input gives the same result every time. It is not a free-form logo designer: you cannot upload artwork, draw shapes or move individual letters.

The result is a still image. The PNG and SVG do not move. Only Latin letters are supported, so Hindi, Chinese, Arabic and other scripts will not work.

Nothing is uploaded. What you type stays in your browser, and your last choices are remembered on this device.

Where to use your monogram

The monogram is a separate file, so it works anywhere an image does.

No. 06Tips

Using your monogram

  1. No. 01

Use the transparent PNG on anything

The download has no background, so you can place it on an invitation, a menu, a sign, a cake topper design or a photo.

  2. No. 02

Keep it simple on small items

Fine lines and a long names line can fill in on a napkin or a sticker. Try the Minimal line or Stacked designs for small sizes.

  3. No. 03

Check it at the size you will print

Print a test at the real size before you order. The 3000 pixel PNG is for large prints; the 1024 pixel one is plenty for screens.

No. 08Questions

Good questions

About the wedding monogram maker.

Is the wedding monogram maker free?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and works on your phone and on a computer. There is no watermark on the downloads.

Is this a wedding crest generator or logo maker?

It makes a crest-style monogram: the Crest design is a shield around your initials. It is a logo built from your initials, not a free-form logo designer.

Are my initials uploaded?

No. The monogram is made in your browser. What you type stays on your device, and nothing is sent anywhere. Your last choices are remembered in this browser only.

What can I download?

A PNG with a transparent background in two sizes, 1024 and 3000 pixels square, and an SVG file. The PNG is a picture; the SVG is scalable.

Does the SVG need your fonts?

No. The SVG keeps the letters as text and has the font files embedded, so web browsers draw it the same as the preview. Some design programs ignore embedded fonts and use a stand-in, so use the PNG there.

Which letters can I use?

Letters A to Z and accented capitals such as É, Ñ, Ö or Å, one to three per initial. Names and date lines can also use numbers and a few marks. Letters the fonts cannot draw are pointed out, and the download stays off until you change them.

What does the surname initial do?

In the Circle frame, Wreath, Crest, Diamond and Arch designs it becomes the large letter in the middle, with the two first initials on each side. In the other designs it is shown smaller below the letters.

Is this AI, and can it be animated?

It is not AI and the files are not animated. For motion, the wedding invitation video maker has a Monogram template with initials in a ring.

Is this also a marriage monogram or logo maker?

Yes. It only needs initials, so it works for any marriage or wedding.

Why is the download button off?

Either an initial is missing, a character cannot be drawn, or some text is too wide for the design even at its smallest size. The message under the preview says which. Shorten the text or choose another design.
