No. 02What you can make
A printable poster that asks the question
Pick the dance, type the question and the first names, and the poster is drawn as you type. There are four layouts (Block party, Marker, Ticket and Spotlight), six bright color schemes and three print sizes: US Letter, A4 and an 18 by 24 inch poster. The suggested wording fills in a complete question for the dance you chose, such as "Will you go to prom with me?" or "Want to go to homecoming together?", and you can change every word.
The file is a PNG image. This tool does not print or mail anything, so take the file to a print shop, print it at home on the Letter or A4 size, or look at it on a screen.
No. 03How it works
From a question to a poster file
No. 01
Choose the dance and the wording
Tap Prom, Homecoming, Winter formal or Spring formal, then tap a wording idea or type your own question in "The question".
No. 02
Add first names and a look
Type their first name and yours if you like, optionally the dance date, then pick a layout and a color. The preview updates at once.
No. 03
Check the size and download
Choose Letter, A4 or Poster, press Download PNG and print it or share the picture. If a line does not fit, the maker marks the field instead of shrinking it too far.
No. 04Made for school
No account, no photos, nothing sent
This page is for students asking someone to a school dance. It needs no account and has nowhere to add a photo. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or saved: the poster is drawn on your own device. It asks for first names only and refuses emails, links, phone numbers and handles.
The "No-pressure line" is on by default. It adds a small line that says yes, no or ask me later is all good, so the person can answer in their own way. Turn it off if you prefer, and think about where you hang a poster: ask a teacher before you put anything up at school.

Ideas, notes and captions
Not sure how to ask? The promposal ideas generator and the hoco proposal ideas generator suggest school-friendly plans. The promposal letter generator writes short notes, and the promposal caption generator writes a caption for a post.

No. 07Tips
Making a poster that reads
No. 01
Keep the question short
Short wording prints larger. Cut every word you can, and the poster reads from across a room.
No. 02
Choose clear colors
Dark text on a light color, or light on dark, reads best. The contrast figure under the preview shows the body text ratio.
No. 03
Make a no easy
Show it to the person privately, or in a small group, and leave the answer open. The no-pressure line helps.
No. 04
Ask before you hang it
A poster at school needs a teacher or the school office to say yes first. Check the rules before you put one up.
No. 08Questions
Good questions
About the promposal poster maker.
Is the promposal poster maker free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account and adds no watermark. Everything is made in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.
Can I add a photo?
No. This maker has no photo upload on purpose. The poster is text and artwork only, in a bold layout.
Which sizes can I make?
US Letter, A4 and an 18 by 24 inch poster, all in portrait. Each is a PNG file you can print or share as a picture.
Can I make a homecoming poster?
Yes. Tap Homecoming under "The dance" and the wording ideas change to match. Winter formal and Spring formal are there too.
Can I ask someone as a friend?
Yes. Type any wording you like, such as "Want to go to prom together?". The wording ideas are all plain invitations.
Why does it say "ask a teacher before you hang it"?
Schools have their own rules about posters in hallways and on lockers. Check with a teacher or the school office before you put one up.
Do you save my wording or names?
No. Nothing is sent or saved. If you close the page, the poster is gone, so download the file first. Use first names only: the maker refuses emails, links, phone numbers and handles.
Do you print or mail the poster?
No. You get an image file. Print it at home or at a print shop.
